The musicians in Brooklyn’s Cheeseburger probably fell into a vat of whiskey and bong water as babies. Then they did the only remaining possible thing – picked up guitars and drums and a mic and starting rocking out. “Easy Street” by Cheeseburger is lo-fi, raw, perverse, appalling and gr8. Enjoy.

Big Rock Candy Mountain – “Hey Kid Give Me Your Money” mp3
“Hey kid, give me your money!” How many of us made it through school without hearing those words, generally delivered by a linebacker with no neck and a quarter inch of brain? Big Rock Candy Mountain’s New Orleans rock bouillabaisse is the perfect medium for this outburst built around that dreadful little phrase. Are they exorcising demons of their grade school past? Or simply warming up to do a bit of robbery? Either way, the mp3 is good, with ferocious combo playing and a blend of trashy, distorted sounds, and quality production. Give them your money.

Rainbow Arabia – “Haunted Hall” mp3
Dj Subverse brought this to my attention last week, and it has worked its colors into my gray matter. A hyper contemporary soundscape featuring a beguiling mix of eastern and western sounds and melodies all tossed about in dub stylee. This mp3 packs a lot of music into two minutes and fifty seconds! Seductive and creepy, soothing and disturbing all at once. Is this what it is like to be haunted? Lovely work.

GG Allin – “Outskirts of Life” mp3
Occasionally we’ll hear someone refer to an artist or work of art as “sick and wrong,” but seldom do we encounter a vendor of filth so deserving of that distinction as one GG Allin, rest his deranged soul. Named “Jesus Christ” by his abusive, insane father, legend has it the name “GG” came about because his brother couldn’t pronounce “Jesus Christ” and it sort of came out “jeejee” and it stuck. Enough has been said about Allin’s shocking antics. What is not as notorious is the fact that he actually created some good songs along the way. Here’s an anthem of sorts, of a man living on the “Outskirts of Life” and you can be sure he lived every word of. Don’t try this at home, kids. He did it so you don’t have to.
